Research Associate
Kia ora, I am an applied entomologist with expertise in biocontrol, ecology, acoustics and insect rearing. I joined Plant & Food Research in 2015, and am a member of the Sensory Ecology & Behaviour team in the Ecological Pest Management group. I am based at Mt Albert Research Centre in Auckland. I am interested in biocontrol of insect pests, integrated pest management, invertebrate acoustics and alternative pest control methods. Some recent projects I have worked on are developing an acoustic lure for the black field cricket, investigating ultrasonic communication in moths, pre-emptive biocontrol research against the brown marmorated stink bug (BMSB), and sustainable management of guava moth.
