Team Leader, Microbiome Mediated Health team

My formal training includes a BSc (Hons) in Zoology from the University of Canterbury, Christchurch and a PhD in nutrition and digestive physiology from Massey University, Palmerston North. I design and undertake human clinical and in vivo laboratory animal studies to provide science based evidence of the nutritional and health benefits of foods and food ingredients, in particular gut health and the role of the microbiome, protein and diet quality, and nutrient bioavailability including phytochemicals.
