As the son of farmers I have always been interested in how we produce food so it seems natural that when I left our family vineyard to work for the wider industry that I started with Plant & Food Research in 1999. While I work on diseases of plants I would much rather see a healthy vineyard than a sick one and hence I work to provide solutions to vine health issues. As a member of the wider team working on grapes and other horticultural crops to help our industries achieve a smart green future together it has been great to see our research results become industry best practice. I look forward to continuing to work with other researchers in New Zealand and internationally to produce a better biology based future for our mokopuna.
