Scientist

I have a background in metabolic and epigenetic regulation, with a particular focus on how these processes influence gametes and embryonic development in the bovine model. After completing my PhD at the University of São Paulo, I continued my research as a postdoctoral fellow at the University of California – Davis, and then at AgResearch. Throughout my career, I worked on understanding the molecular regulators that affect embryonic development. Currently, as part of the Marine Cell Technology Team at Plant & Food Research, I’m applying my experience to enhance our understanding of finfish cells and explore better ways to control their differentiation and growth during culture. My work aims to advance cellular agriculture and contribute to the health and sustainability of Aotearoa New Zealand’s fish populations.
