Dr Penny Tricker

Science Group Leader, Cropping Systems & Environment

I am a plant scientist with particular interest in the physiological traits and mechanisms underlying crops’ responses to stressful growth environments and genotype x environment interactions. The focus of my work has been on water use and plant responses to climate change. I have worked extensively with crop breeders, plant physiologists, and 'omics specialists and have a continued interest in genetics and epigenetics. I am Science Group Leader for the Cropping Systems and Environment group. The group includes Modelling, Land use impacts, Field crops physiology, Climate smart systems and Soil function and health teams, as well as our Field and Lab operations teams, and I have responsibility for championing and facilitating their science.
